KGHistory for Kids
The Museum of Health Care presents KGHistory for Kids! Suitable for ages 6-12, this 30-minute outdoor memory and mapping activity is a fun way for children to learn about the exciting history of Kingston General Hospital. This eye-opening scavenger hunt includes revelations of plagues, politicians, prisoners, doctors, new immigrants, a nobleman and nurses, and spans nearly 100 years! Combining education, entertainment and exercise, the activity takes place mostly outside, on the picturesque grounds of KGH. The activity begins at the Museum of Health Care in the Ann Baillie Building at 32 George Street. Please make reservations by email at tour@kgh.kari.net or call 613 548-2419. THOUSAND ISLANDS PLAYHOUSE SHOWING "BLOOD BROTHERS"
Blood Brothers will be playing at the Thousand Islands Playhouse in the Springer Theatre from Thursday, June 17 to Saturday, July 31 with start times of 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The musical has a contemporary nature vs. nurture plot, revolving around fraternal twins who are separated at birth. The twins’ different backgrounds take them to opposite ends of the social spectrum, one becoming an Oxbridge-graduated councilor and the other unemployed and imprisoned. Both fall for the same girl, with tragic circumstances. Tickets are available online, at the theatre box office, or by phone at 613-382-7020. 6TH ANNUAL GOLF FOR THE FONZ TOURNAMENT
Support the Gananoque & District Humane Society while having fun.Marking its 6th year this tournament is returning to the original course, the Gananoque Golf & Country Club on Saturday, July 31.The event is open to anyone. SUMMER ARTS CAMP
A Summer Arts Camp will take place Tuesday, August 3 to Friday, August 6 at the Sydenham Street United Church. Children (8-11) and youth (12-16) will experience West-African drumming and dancing with internationally recognized percussionist and educator Kathy Armstrong. Other activities and professional facilitators will include singing (Andy Rush, Jennifer Moir, Marie Anderson), art-making (Alice VanderVennen) and generally having fun. SHEEP DOG TRIALS
Mark your calendar for Friday, August 6, Saturday, August 7 and Sunday, August 8 and join us for the Kingston Sheep Dog Trials at Grass Creek Park (on Highway 2 between Kingston and Gananoque). The trials run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.Over 100 of North America's top trial competitors will participate in the Kingston Sheep Dog Trial, the third largest trial in North America. Admission is $10 a day or $25 for a three day pass. Kids ten and under are free. There's plenty of free on-site parking for those who are driving. Trials' food vendors offer BBQ, baked goods, kettle corn and cotton candy will also be onsite.Visitors can also look forward to a variety of interactive side attractions, along with our popular craft and artisans fair, ongoing sheep shearing demonstrations, spinning and craft demonstrations, a Sheep to Shawl competition, dog training seminars, a children's play area, pony rides, a petting zoo and so much more, this festival is one that you won't want to miss.

4TH ANNUAL KINGSTON AMAZING CHALLENGE
If you like trying new things, like tv reality shows such as Survivor and the Amazing Race, you won't want to miss this event. Teams of four will race through the City of Kingston being challenged physically and mentally over the course of four hours. You might even be the top team. The event takes place SATURDAY, AUGUST 14th. This event is limited to 20 teams, so don't get left behind and sign up TODAY. GILDA'S CLUB GOLF TOURNAMENT AT WESTBROOK GOLF CLUB
Gilda’s Club is a place where men, women, teens and children with cancer-along with family and friends-can join others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care. The Gilda’s club philosophy is that a diagnosis of cancer affects the whole family and that no one should have to face cancer alone. GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE WALK
The annual Give the Gift of Life Walk hosted by the Kidney Foundation of Canada will be held on Sunday, September 26 at the Focus Personal Fitness Studio in Kingston. This is a pledge based walk focused on raising awareness about kidney health and organ donation. Walkers are encouraged to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges to receive a Walk t-shirt.
